A wonderful few days...

What a great couple few days :)

I was lucky enough to be able to help volunteer at Zerin's field day for school. It was one of the funnest things I've ever done! The kids were so cute, and I loved loved loved watching Zerin in his element with his friends.

Then I got the sweetest message from one of my friends. It wasn't over anything lifechanging, or even circumstance changing, but it certainly led to me changing. The cloud that's settled in my heart just seemed to fade away. I feel happy again, and I feel very very grateful for all of the good, wonderful people that I know.

Bryan and I were able to go to Liah's kindergarten graduation. She was so happy and you should have heard her cheer when her teacher said everyone in the class was moving on to the 1st grade :) Liah cried the night before because she was so sad she wouldn't be able to see her teacher until fall. Her teacher gave her a huge hug as we were leaving, and was like, "Oh, my Liah, I am really going to miss you." It was very sweet :) We have been so blessed, my kids have always had the very best in teachers. It makes it easier knowing they are in good hands when I can't be watching them every second.

In the afternoon, me and the kids went back to the school for the flag lowering ceremony. Nothing like a flag and a parking lot full of kids to make me bawl like a baby. It was awesome.

Later, my cute friend, Lisa, invited a bunch of people to a park for an end of school ice cream party. I can't tell you the last time I just sat and talked with friends and watched my kids play without stressing about all the things I wasn't getting done. It was wonderful :)

As I put my kids in bed, it was just the best, most happiest feeling as I realized I do not have to share them for close to 90 days!!! I love summers :)

Today started with a visit with two of my very best friends, Kathryn and Angie. Kathryn and her family are moving across the country and were making a short stop in Utah to visit family, so we all decided to get together for a couple of hours. I have learned so much from those two over the years about being a better wife and mother...I feel so blessed to have them in my life. They are the kind of friends we don't have to talk every day (or even every month hahaha), but when we get together we just pick up right where we left off, it's wonderful to have friends like that.

This afternoon, we found a turtle. Yes, that's right, a real, green, snapping turtle. Our little neighbor girl wanted to name it Jake. Liah wanted to name it Hannah Montana (which is what she names all of the other creatures we come in contact with), but Zerin with his charasmatic personality pushed his choice of Mickey (Mantle) Albert (Puhjols) Skelton. So Mickey is now hanging out in our terrarium in our backyard. I don't know why, but I'm really taken with the little guy.
