So, more than a year ago, my friend did a giveaway on her blog. The only condition was that at some point (no time limit thank goodness!) I had to pay it forward on my blog. Well, for the first time in my life, I actually won! It was a darling wooden block with Belen's name on it...so cute :)
On an unrelated note, I am in need of some warm fuzzies at the moment, so I'm killing two birds with one stone...actually I did that this week. I put out a net to keep the quail from eating my beans, and the mommy and daddy quail got stuck in it and died. I stink. Anyways, back to this, to quote Dr. Seuss, "The time has come, the time is now..."
Here's the deal... leave a comment about something good. I'm leaving it wide open folks...just something good you've experienced first hand in the last week or so that warms the heart, broadens the mind, or enriches the soul.
I will use one of those internet random number thingies, and select 3 of you to get one of
these (or something similar depending on what you'd like).

The winners can send me the pics of your choosing (since I'm pretty sure a mother's necklace with pictures of my kids wouldn't be all that appealing to most of you), and I'll get them made and sent out sometime in the near distant future. I am learning I need to leave things like this a bit more open for my sanity's sake ;).
I am not sure when this weekend I will get to pick the winners, but it will most likely be sometime between now and Tuesday :)
So...good luck! And thanks in advance for brightening my day :)

oh my gosh Tiffany! i'm the one that feels responsible about the netting and the quail since it was my big idea that you should do it in the first place! that makes me feel terrible! did you cry? i would have cried. maybe next year i'll plant all sorts of stuff and put no netting out in tribute to birds and let them eat all they want. how awful! that's going to be with me all day!
the necklace is really cute Tiffany. I didn't post a comment to necessarily be in the contest but I will be since I ended up commenting anyway but I feel even blacker getting into a contest because of the birds too. Sad.
haha, what's funny is that to BE in the contest, i had to post about something GOOD. In fact, I posted about something NOT good. So I didn't end up being in the contest after all!
Well, here's something good. I'm sitting here in my living room staring over at a fat little girl a high chair get a grasp of using a spoon as she shovels cheerios and blueberries into her fat little cheeks. And then she grins teeth, cheerios, blueberries - it's all there. Cute.
Something good...this is something great (at least to me)! A sister missionary from my life many, many years ago in Alaska is engaged! She waited, searched, prayed, cried, and searched some more, and she has finally found Mr. Right (through an internet dating thing). The great news---she has invited me to attend the Temple sealing in August! Good things do come to those who wait (just not always in this life!)!
Well my good thing is that I'm finally homeless as of yesterday! And to top it all off, although I have to be away from my husband most of the week, I get to be near my best friend and now running buddy everyday until we find a house!
Something good in the last week is I had multiple people help me with my roof last week and are willing to come back for more this weekend. I love my family and appreciate them more everyday.
I have some really good comments, one is about a wonderful man, who is deep thinking, and has a deep seeded testimony of this glorious gospel, who loves children and you can see is in his eyes. They light up like Christmas tree lights whenever he is around them. 'Let the little children come unto Me'. He has the depth of lessons pf the Atonement only learned through extreme pain.
The other is about a woman who only wants to serve others, 'and in as much as ye do it unto the least of my brethren, ye have done it unto me'. Who supports and loves continually, and wants only good in her life, but more in the lives of others.
I wanted to write something good, but you don't need to include me in the contest. My something good is that I have 2 friends who are just incredible to me--I keep telling her she amazes me. You and Brian do AMAZE me and inspire me just because of the people that you are and your hearts. And part of that something good is that my daughter had the most delightful time this week at your camp--I can't believe all that you did for the kids each day and even though she is only 3 and can't remember all she did at the end of each day--I pray that the Spirit will etch in her heart all the great things you taught them by getting out and providing the experiences that go along with the principles. THANK YOU for such a unique and wonderful camp. Camp Monson ROCKS!!!
I'm not necessarily commenting for the sake of the contest either. But I do have something grand to say. I agree with Emily...Camp Monson ROCKS! I asked the kids (your included) on the way home how camp was...Liah said they felt a little shy and scared at first but that they ended up having a wonderful time and made friends with all of these cute old people. Sarah wanted to go back for another visit some time. Just listening to them go on about all the people they met today, calling them by name...admittedly...I got a little teary. Thanks for all the hands on. You, your wonderful husband, your creative ideas, and bundle of energy are my GOOD thing. Thanks for making a difference! Love ya!
I want to make a comment
Though eligible I might not be
I think you pay it forward
Every day by WHO YOU BE
Yes, there might be some bias
As your mother I have seen
Your daily way of living
Has become another's dream.
With your eternal companion
You've touched so many lives
The parents you were meant to be
As "heaven-like" husband and wife
You asked about "warm fuzzies"
And I have one that I can share
When you took a minute and listened
On a day when no one cared.
It made the greatest difference
And where there had been dismay
I noticed the new sunset
You helped Heavenly Father display.
I won't lie, I'd love to have
That necklace as a prize.
The pictures could be the same
Plus one---in Grandma's size.
Yes, I know this rhymes a little,
But you know that's just my curse.
I cannot write just normal
It just comes out to be a verse.
Bottom line---you're my "warm fuzzy"
Now, I hope someone can say
Because of my own actions
They've had a better day
Love you!
Mom
Totally LOVE your mom's comment... so creative, special, and loving! As many others, I'm not wanting to leave a comment necessarily to be in the contest, but because it's a beautiful thing to read uplifting thoughts and stories. All the comments have been beautiful. A warm fuzzy for me... although we are still in the same situation... so many people stepped up last week and donated things to me to sell to help ease our burden. These were no small things, beds, couches, etc.. things that they could have easily sold and reaped the rewards of - but they didn't. What amazing friends and neighbors we have - generous and loving people who have the light of Christ with them. It's good to know that there are still GREAT and AMAZING people in the world - whether they are putting on Camp Monson, or donating to a Garage Sale!
Okay - so I am a little late on checking the blog and anything internet related but here is my 2 cents - and not necessarily for the contest.
Last week, I had a friend host this most amazing camp for my children. They had the time of their lives - all while doing good for others. This same friend also hosted a huge successful party for a lot of ladies of different ages and appetites. This friend also had a major up and a major down - all the while smiling. Then - to top it all off - this friend tricked my husband into giving her tupperware, that she was supposedly "borrowing" and then returned it plus some filled with wonderful, beautiful bright red raspberry jam. When I cried - she laughed. Oh how I love this friend...
