We got a call a couple of days ago saying the Bishopric in our ward wanted to come see us. I was very nervous as any kind of company seems to be code for our children to misbehave. So last night came, and a few short minutes before they arrived, Bryan decided to "reward" them with a movie together downstairs. Since they all knew it was almost bedtime, they were thrilled. Now if any of you know my children, yes, they love movies, but that doesn't usually mean they will sit and watch it...it's more of a roaming experience. To my surprise and delight, none of them moved or peeped the entire hour the Bishopric were here...Asher even fell asleep, and Liah had covered him with her blanket. Awwww....
Back to the visit. One of the members of the Bishopric actually visited a couple of days after we had moved in back in November...boxes were stacked to the ceiling...barely a space on the couch to sit on, it was pretty much utter chaos. So it was nice to have a nice, clean, all but finished room to sit and be in.
Nothing really spectacular happened, other than there was just this overwhelming sense that you knew that they really cared about us. I was so happy too, because Bryan usually is pretty quiet for these kind of visits, so I end up having to carry the conversation a bit. Not this time. He really seemed animated while they were here...it was wonderful.
It has been a bit hard coming back to this ward, leaving our comfort zones and friends, and more or less starting over...again. Especially now that people are SO busy, they just don't seem to take the time to get to know each other any more (myself included)...unless you count blogging :) Because of that, this visit just seemed to reassure me that yes, we are where we are supposed to be, and yes, we will eventually make friends :)

Tiffany,
Congratulations! I'm so excited for you! I can't wait to hear if it's boy or girl!
I hope you are feeling better :)
I feel bad that the world is down to nearly 100% electronic communication. It's sad, it really is. We even had a lesson in YW yesterday about it and it really touched home although it was something I'd been thinking of anyway lately. So, for you to bring it up makes me remember something I've been meaning to ask you - what's your freakin' phone number? Will you email it to me? I don't think I ever had your cell number either. I NEED it! Love you. Thanks for all your support during my pregnancy but I'd really like to thank you in person or at least using my "real" voice. ;)
