2 months old...
My littlest is now 2 months old. I took her in for her well-child visit on Thursday, and she's now 13 lbs 5 oz. and over 23 inches long. I put on a 3-6 month outfit today and the shirt fit great, but the little tights cut off the circulation to the lower half of her body they were so tight. I love the chunkiness, but it would be nice to enjoy a size of clothes for longer than 3 weeks!
She has been sleeping through the night for about a week straight now, it almost feels wrong to have a baby be this easy :) On Wednesday, she had been asleep for 11 hours, and whether I missed her, or I just really needed to nurse, (or maybe a little of both) I couldn't stand it any longer so I woke her up.
She started cooing a lot this last week, and her smiles are popping up a bit more often. One of my favorite moments is when they lock eyes with you and smile...that's the next big thing I'm looking forward to.
When she was born, I noticed she never really had much of a soft spot on her head, and that her head seemed more narrow than any of my other kids'. I mentioned it to the doctor yesterday, and he wants to watch it closely for the next couple of months...we may end up needing to do the helmet to help correct it, but I'm hoping it will just take care of itself. It's got me worried, but it also made me feel good to know that I picked up on it...after 6 kids I finally have mother's intuition!!!!! :)
She only really cries when she's hungry, and she'll moan when she's wet. She doesn't like to be alone, but in our house, that doesn't really have much of a chance to happen :) I thought that the novelty of the new baby would have worn off by now, and the kids' love and excitement over her would have waned a bit, but they all still adore her. Zerin melts my heart when I watch him hold her...he just has a natural gift for loving children. Liah is constantly gushing over her, telling everyone how cute she is, and reaffirming my choice in outfits for her. Aeden and Asher LOVE to hold her...usually for 10 seconds or less, but still. I love it that they enjoy her so much. Belen loves to help me with her...keeping that a safe activity has become a bit of a full-time job for me. Hers is an intense love that's for sure :)
I wish it wouldn't have taken me so long to realize how precious this time is while my babies are little. I have tried to soak it all in, not just with her but with all my kids. I've said this so much lately, but it's just too short, this time I have with each of them. With so many responsibilities and obligations, I find it easy to get lost in the to-do's and completely miss the doings. Today at least, I am loving the doings.

We had to do the helmet with Erin. It wasn't too bad. We should have done it with Liam. For the other two, we got a headrest/pillow thing that is round with a hole in the middle of it and put it everywhere our baby was, car seat, bed, chair, wherever and that helped a lot. Tons cheaper too. (Our insurance didn't cover the helmet...$3,000). We got it online at target.com. I can get the name if you want it. I'm so happy your Honda is safe!!
Ooh, my daughter Scarlett had the same outfit as a baby! Precious!
