We had a fun day yesterday, but I think I will blog more about that a bit later. We went down to BYU to show the kids (mostly Zerin and Aeden) the marriot center, and the baseball and football fields. Oh, and we went to the Carl Bloch exhibit. But like I said, more on that later :)
Before I get too carried away, let me start out by saying...he is fine.
I am guilty of not always answering the phone. I know that's not nice, but with all of the distractions that I have every day with the kids and other stuff, I rationalize that that is why God allowed voicemail to be invented. I also rationalize that if it's really important, people will try again. That came back to bite me a bit I'd say :) I intend to repent, later. Sometimes, the phone rings late at night. Sometimes it rings when I am asleep. Last night it rang... a lot.
The first call, I slept through. Later I would find out it was my brother, Chris, calling from the halfway house. The second call, I got up a bit too late, but saw on caller id it was him again. About 30 minutes later (I had again fallen asleep) I get another call which I missed. The fourth call was from some weird number but I figured it was either Chris calling from his calling from a calling card or a telemarketer. Either way I had missed it again so I headed back to bed when my home phone and my cell phone rang at the same time. Chris was on my cell (calling from the hospital), my mom on my home phone so I picked up with my mom and found out Chris had been in an accident so I hurried and picked up my cell. Lucky for him I almost always take her calls late at night :) Apparently, on his bike ride home from work, a car had hit him but didn't stop, so he then had to walk a couple miles home. After he talked with the officer at the halfway house, they took him to the hospital. I caught up with him in the ER. He was a little bruised, and I'm sure he was sore, but he was fine. They did an xray of his knee just to be safe but that was fine too. Three hours and a lot of interesting people later (it was a hospital in West Valley), I dropped him off and made my way home just before 2. And of course after such an exciting evening, my mind wouldn't shut off, so I watched Cricut Expression Infomercials until dreams of perfectly cute labeled pantry containers and wall sayings began to take over my consciousness.
Lucky for me, the kids slept in until 7:30 this morning so I was able to fully organize my imaginary pantry and wonderhome, all but the bathroom with my amazing Cricut, which now that I think about it was probably half Cricut, half Sillhouette, half imaginary awesomeness. But not bad for a half night's sleep, wouldn't you say? :)
