A behind the scenes peek on our family pictures...

I have always always always wanted a beautiful family picture.  Thanks to a very dear friend, I now have one!  She's wonderful, talented, amazing, oh, and did I mention pregnant?!  It's an experience I'm sure she won't soon forget...although this is the 2nd time she has allowed us to torture her, so in my defense, she should have known what she was in for, right?.  Needless to say, she was a very good sport.

I wanted to be like the cool people, and do the matchy, coordinate-y thing.  I gave it my best effort...only to realize that my somewhat matching white shirts were actually not all white, but rather, white and cream.  Then, 10 minutes before we were supposed to leave, Bryan "reminded" (he calls it reminded, I call it telling me for the first time) that his only pair of jeans have a huge patch on them on the knee and they fit him like a straw wrapper.  So, after I gathered my wits, controlled my bubbling frustration, we made do.  Oh, and Liah's beautiful hair, well...not so beautiful.  Belen was ornery, and Asher was being a pill.   Zerin didn't want to button his shirt, and for some odd reason, people kept touching Aeden---every two seconds it was "Liah's touching me!  Zerin's touching me!  Belen's breathing on me!"  *sigh*. And because I was putting out all these fires minutes before we were supposed to leave, well, you can see my hair.  I know I have to have to tolerate my furslugging chin, but I was hoping for a good hair day.  But all of those crazy things aside, or maybe because of all those crazy things, not to mention the oodles of talent and eye for detail of my amazing friend, I love our pictures!  I love it because it's real and so us.  We aren't one of those matchy matchy perfect families, but we're a family, we love each other, and these pictures prove it :)

These first three are all part of a series I like to call "The Fairytale Revisited."

I think Bryan's face says it all :)

This was my knee.  Not too shabby to have this be the worst thing that happened to any of us.
This picture is deep...as deep as a picture of a skinned knee can be :)  To me, it represented how my nerves were holding up:  a little freyed around the edges, but still holding it together where it counted ;)

I love my family :)

Thank you again, Carrie!!!  I cannot wait to hang this on my wall :D

I'm laughing...not because I don't get this post but because I DO. We just went through the same thing...rabbit ears and all. Look how big Belen is getting. She is adorable and I'm already in love with the rest of the family so...

How about a playdate? Maybe next week after the craziness subsides?
