Incredible? Yep! :)

What an incredible week, seriously.  Incredible, unbelievable, wonderful...nope, not quite right yet.  I'll keep trying :)

Let me back up.  Dr. Anderson...dear, sweet, wonderful Dr. Anderson.  Well, last Tuesday I called to make the appointment for Bryan, and the gal at the appointment desk was already aware of us, and had blocked out 2 appointments for us to choose from on Dr. Anderson's request for the day after he was to get back from from his conference.  For those of you unaccustomed to making doctor appointments, that is not normal!  In fact, that has never happened in my life.  So yesterday we went.  No wait.  None.  He had obviously refreshed his memory about Bryan's last visit and my letter because we didn't have to reschool him on everything, but he was very thorough in his questioning.  He sat talking with us for over an hour (the visit was only supposed to be 30 minutes).  He listened, and when it was all over, he validated everything we had both been feeling.  He pretty much confirmed what we have already known, but also said that there was more than likely more than one thing going on causing all of this turmoil in Bryan's body (finally!!!).  He never came right out and said 'You have (fill in the blank)" but he did throw out a few names of things, but said he wants to check out a few things that no one has checked into yet before he throws a name on whatever this is that has been plaguing Bryan.

And then, as if that weren't enough, as we were getting ready to leave, he talked books with Bryan.  Okay, maybe that seems silly to everyone else, but that is the one interest Bryan has left that this illness hasn't affected or been able to rob him of.  It is his niche.  It is his love.  So after spending more than twice the time he had set aside for Bryan (everyone in his office was pretty much gone by the time we left), for him to care as much as he obviously did, and connect with Bryan in such a personal way, I seriously wanted to cry, I was so happy.  He even wrote a book down for Bry to check on on a prescription pad.  I think Bryan will put it in his journal as it was the first time he ever got a prescription for a book :)

And then, as if that weren't enough, tonight he called.  Himself.  Again!  There were a few lab results that came in, and he called to talk to Bryan personally.

So back to that word I was looking for to describe this week...I feel like I'm starting to overuse miraculous, but if there is another word that means the same thing, yeah, that would be it.

I am so glad that you found someone who is willing to listen and not just assume anything. Good luck and let me know if you all need anything.

So, if the doctor prescribes a book, does your insurance pay for it?
