Send your Relief Society Ideas please!

So, many of you know I am now the Relief Society Meeting Coordinator...I've never had such a long title ;) It is quite a funny thing for Bryan and I...I would have thought that I had a better chance at being called to Bishop than this, but I'll give it my best...hahaha!

So anyways, tomorrow, I'm supposed to meet with the Presidency and give them ideas for the birthday party we are having in a month & a half. My cousin gave me a really cute one about a cheap gift exchange, but turns out, they did something very similar just prior to us moving in, so I need some fresh ideas. I've checked out http://www.sugardoodle.net/ and gotten a couple ideas, but if you have been to a fabulous meeting, and want to share, that would be
A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!

How fun, you will be GREAT at this calling! Seriously, I think its perfect for you, cuz you'll bring your own unique-ness to it!

In my ward for the birthday thing every March, we do the same thing each year. But its a gift exchange, and you said they didn't want to do that again, right? We love it, though, its tons of fun. Remember that Emma Smith program our old stake did for the birthday celebration one year? That was awesome. Oh, another thing our ward did once for a regular enrichment was a "speed dating" type thing. Everybody had a list of questions to ask the other person, and you had two rows of chairs facing each other. The people on one row stayed there, while the other row rotated down the row every minute or so, when they would call out--SWITCH! So then you would ask the new person sitting in front of you the next question on the list, and then you answer it. That probably doesn't make much sense, so call me if you want me to clear it up! :) So so so fun, you get to talk to tons of people, and everybody loved it. Well, good luck!

We had a night of talents. Every sister that wanted to brought a sample of one of their talents... photography, quilting, welding, sewing, painting, etc... They were all displayed for everyone to see, then they selected a few sisters to talk about their talents.

Another thing we did that I really liked was to focus on our heritage. We have a few sisters in our ward from different countries. Mexico, Argentina, Germany, Switzerland... They had each sister make a treat from that country, bring some decorations from that country and teach all of us about traditions they have carried on in their families from their native countries. It was a lot of fun. It was done at Christmas time which was really cool because the sisters talked about Christmas traditions they do in their homes.

Good luck Tiff! You're going to do great!!!
