But this story's about Zerin. They had doughnuts on a string, and Zerin was just having a tough time digging into his. One of the ladies helping said he was having a hard time because he said his tooth was loose. I rolled my eyes a little, because anytime Zerin does something less than exceptionally, there is ALWAYS an excuse, and his tooth has been "loose" for months so I wasn't buying it. So when he turned around with a bloody mouth, you can imagine I felt a little bad. It was pretty loose, but still not quite there yet, so he kept working on it.
At bedtime, he kept getting up, wanting to show us how much looser it was, so we told him he couldn't get out of bed unless it was out. Bryan in his awesome parental patience went in there to show him how not loose it was, and, yeah, he ended up pulling it out :) After a moment of shock because of the blood, Zerin was over the top giddy, facinated that his tooth had a hole, documenting the place where he had chipped it months before, and on and on.
Then this morning, to his delight, he found a dollar bill where his tooth had been. He insisted Bryan and I were the tooth fairy this time, because last time, the tooth fairy left him BRAND NEW dollar bills, and this one was crumpled. *Sigh*

That is a funny story! Hunter is convinced Paul and I are the tooth fairy too. We are trying to convince him otherwise but I don't think it is working. Oh well, maybe we will have Santa for another year or so huh:)!
Many things Zerin says and does remind me of Dylan! There is ALWAYS an excuse for not winning....and he is super curious and analytical. He loves inspecting and giving his "hypothesis" on everything. I can totally picture him inspecting the tooth the same way. BUT...he is convinced there IS a tooth fairy. Well, lots of tooth fairies who live in fairyland. He can give you all the details if you ask him. And he made most of the details up himself.
There was a really fun book we read from the library though that talked about how tough the tooth fairy is because she is so little but has to carry all these heavy quarters around and she flies around on this tooth-shaped jet-powered machine. And something dings every time a tooth is lost around the world so she can rush there and collect all the teeth for her collection. Pretty cute! That story just added fuel to the fire that is Dylan's imagination! :)
