A little guarded...

I am a little hesitant to even write about this...but since I don't believe in luck, jinxing, or anything like that, it can't hurt right???

SO many people have offered to help, and given suggestions, and offered various resources, but things haven't either panned out or felt right, so we've felt a little discouraged lately, but at the same time, humbled that so many people care.

So we were sitting down to dinner tonight, and a family from our ward stopped by. He is a sports medicine doctor, and she is a personal trainer. They just stopped in to see how we were and to see how Bryan was doing. He asked Bryan about all of his symptoms, and we chatted for a while. He told Bryan that he also suspects an auto-immune disease, and that 30% of people with auto-immune diseases never have anything show up on a blood test...you have to just start treatment and more or less assume what you have based upon what works. Then he told us he was going to pull Bryan's file and try to get him into a rheumotologist within the next couple of weeks. His wife then said she was going to her rheumotologist tomorrow (she has RA (rheumatoid arthritis)) and she was going to see if he accepts our insurance and if he could get us in quickly.

I don't know that anything will come of this, but Bryan was smiling after they left...and given how he's feeling, that's pretty remarkable.

OH! What a blessing, if nothing else to just talk to someone with a foot in the door somewhere! I WILL keep my fingers crossed and knees bent.
