4 Stars!

I hope this isn't too redundant (since I just posted this on facebook), but I couldn't help but post it here too!  It's one of my all-time favorite Brian Regan shorts about hospitals.  I started having pretty decent contractions the last week of June.  Plus all the other stuff that goes with those, so I decided I'm totally using this line next time someone asks how I'm feeling...

"4 stars!  Two enthusiastic THUMBS  UP!"  Too much?!  Probably :)

I know I shouldn't whine...this is such a short, short temporary thing, and I know how blessed I am to even be able to play a part in bringing her into the world, but holy crows nest, after the last 2 weeks, it's getting a little old.  Two to three naps a day is now normal.  And I won't bore you with why everything on my inside feels like it wants to be on my outside (another Brian Regan beauty).  I'm just really looking forward to someday having my body back...and not hurting constantly in one or more spots at any given time...and bending over to pick up paper...and using stairs...and wearing shoes...and having clothes that cover the entirety of my belly...and having a lap...it's the little things :)

The great, happy wonderful thing is that my doctor says the baby looks perfect.  Perfect...the best word a mother can hear.  All whining aside, I cannot tell you how grateful I am to know that things are going well with her.  And even though I would take an epidural right now, and opt to let her stay in me for a few more weeks (because let's be honest...6 kids sounds a little intimidating!), knowing she's doing so well, I don't feel like I can ask for one more good thing.  So if it brings me a healthy little girl, then Body...bring it on! :)  But even if all this junk brings me a baby who doesn't fit that description, and she has a long list of ailments and problems, I think the moment she's in my arms, she will still be perfect to me.  A child with no physical problems would be a tremendous blessing, but either way it's a blessing.  To know that in a few short days, a perfect little spirit is going to be in my home, I get goosebumps...I am so excited to meet her!

I have dilated a little bit, but last time I was at a 3 for 3 weeks, and now just being at a 2, my doctor even scheduled me for a just in case induction a few days after my due date.  It's nice to know that come the 6th of August, all of this will be a happy memory.

I am to the point now where people give me those incredulous "you're still here?!" looks every time they see me because, like the bumble bee, I look like I am defying laws of physics to be moving at all.  If I didn't have kids, all public appearances would now be cancelled until further notice.

Even my kids and Bryan are now in awe over my enormity and all of the interesting things that come with this stage of the pregnancy.  Bryan's comment last night was, while laughing, "That is one huge belly!"  Thanks dear.  Aeden, who affectionately refers to blood veins as blood tubes, caught a peek of my tummy, and with a concerned look on his face said, "Mom, you have way more blood tubes than anyone I know."

Asher still insists I am carrying 3 babies.  I will try to put this as delicately as possible.  I am not a big chested girl by any means.  So when I'm pregnant, those assets are much more enhanced than normal, and to a 3 year old, I am sure it's strange to have your mom look one way one day, and different another.  So back to the story, he comes up, and softly pats one of those assets, and says "Hi baby!"  I tell him, "Asher, that's not the baby, that's where the baby will eat."  To which HE responds, "Oh yeah [oh yeah is always what he says when he is about to argue with you], you have THREE babies [and, as he touches each bump]... ONE...TWO...THREE!"

It's good to have honesty alive and well at our house :)

You seriously have ever right to complain! You can call me and moan and whine alllll you want!!! Lucy, the girl I used to babysit, said I had a big baby and a little baby. She also thought I would get the baby out by shaking and shaking until it came out of my toe.. haha!! Oh the joy of little ones!! You are amazing, really!

Asher is the cutest, I am laughing so hard at the 3 babies! Hang in there, you can do it! The end is the worst part. Once she is here you will forget all this other stuff!

Oh, Tiffany, hang in there! I am amazed by you! And regarding your last paragraph, I am in exactly the same boat, so when my son was very small, a neighbor came over who was both well-endowed and a little overweight, and to my chagrin, he asked, "Where is your baby?" I had to explain that he thought any woman with something up top had to have a baby (so she wouldn't think he was confused about her weight). Embarrassing!

I'm sorry you're feeling miserable. I completely understand. Holler if you need me to do anything for you!
