It just seems unreal that my sweet baby boy somehow turned into a 5 year old little man! He was 5 days late, and a monster 9 lbs 8 oz when he was born, and has been a dramatic force in our home ever since :)
Aeden is all the things that are right in the world rolled up into one little boy. He makes me laugh all day long. He is constantly thinking of others. Tonight, Bryan wasn't yet home for dinner, so he prayed that he would be safe, and feel better, and a bunch of other stuff. After he ended the prayer, he was like, 'Wasn't that the most thoughtful prayer, Mom?' To which I gave a resounding 'YES!' through my snorted water :)
He is such a huge help all the time. Doesn't matter if we are cooking, cleaning, or some other random project, he is always at my or Bryan's heels ready and waiting to do our bidding. He loves his siblings, and especially loves playing with his brothers. It has been so fun to see the three of them get so close this year. They wrestle CONSTANTLY (especially when I am trying to get everyone seated for family prayer...grrrr). They play Nerf wars, Ben 10, Percy Jackson, Wii, and a hundred other things. Aeden loves his big sister. I often find him hanging out with her on her bed, reading books, or just talking. It's good their relationship has evolved, and that Liah now has a little sister, because she used to take great joy in dressing him in her clothes or painting his nails :) He loves making Belen laugh, and teaching her to do semi-naughty things like burping and growling at people.
He is not shy at all! I have to watch him closely because he will self-detour at the grocery store to talk to people. He is extremely persistent...except when it comes to cleaning his room :) He loves food. I think he is thinking about, talking about, or consuming food 98% of his waking hours. Some people save for their kids' college and missions, I am saving to supplement our food budget once he becomes a teenager! :)
In short, Aeden is happiness, and I am so so happy he's mine. Happy Birthday Aeden :)
