What Shall We Give?
Several years ago, I saw the Tabernacle Choir perform this song on the free video that came with our church magazine, The Ensign. I cried. The words resonated in my soul. The music spoke to my heart. I cannot think of another song that has had that kind of impact on me. It was profound.
It was during that moment I knew I wanted to somehow name one of my daughters after this song. Last year, when my little Belen was born, I finally got that opportunity.
I still cannot listen to it without the tears welling up. I know we cannot take things with us when we die, but I hope more than anything we can take music. I cannot imagine going through the eternities without songs like this. If heaven has a playlist, I am requesting this to be added to mine! :)
And then to add the words of one of my favorite talks by President Monson, it's just perfect.
