Last night, we didn't receive a call, so we both had pretty much resigned ourselves that it was over and done and he would not be getting hired (we didn't know what purposed today's interview was for, but it's hard to be hopeful about that after 3 supposed rejections). I was in the process of making my peace with the whole situation this morning when Bryan called after finishing his interview at Eagle Bay Elementary.
Interesting sidenote: Come to find out that Adelaide was also doing their interviewing this morning. This is the one school that Bryan did not get an interview for. This was interesting to me, because of all the schools, we certainly had the most contacts at this school, so it was confusing why we didn't even get selected for an interview, until now. Eagle Bay has a dual immersion spanish program. Bryan is not only fluent in spanish, and ESL certified, but also taught ESL for several years, and his 2nd job focuses primarily on ESL education. I'm reading between the lines and assuming A LOT, but it makes sense if both interviews were set up at the same time, Eagle Bay was not an accident. Plus, I don't know how many schools the other candidates interviewed for, but getting 4 of 5 still seems pretty high to me, and hopefully says something to the fact that they want him.
As Bryan was waiting to go in for his interview this morning, some of his fellow applicants mentioned they had not heard back either on most of the jobs. Interesting.
That didn't explain tonight's board meeting agenda though. Until we found out through unofficial sources that most likely not all of the positions would be taken care of tonight. Some of them, yes, all of them, no. Interesting stuff.
So, now, we are back to hoping. The closest thing I have experienced to this process has being being overdue with a baby. Once that due date comes and goes, minutes seem like hours, hours seem like days, days seem like months, etc. So, no idea when this nightmarish process will be over, but maybe it is better that way :)
