"I just wanted to let you know you have one sweet son! And you should share this with your husband. We talked a little about Helen Keller today and how back then the doctors didn't have the technology and knowledge to heal her fever when she was little which caused her to go blind and deaf. We talked about the challenges she faced and how she overcame them. Well Zerin raises his hand and I call on him. He then proceeds to tell me and the class how his dad has a sickness and the doctors can't help him. He explains how everyday it hurts for him to get up and walk and how he is in so much pain but nobody knows what's wrong with him. Then (here is the sweet part) he said, "my dad is my hero..." because of those things. I wish I could have recorded it word for word and remember exactly what he said. But just the "my dad is my hero" part was enough to almost make me cry! What a sweet son you have, and very advanced for his age to recognize the challenges of his dad's sickness and how he positively deals with it. I just wanted to share that little piece of sunshine with you. You and your husband must be doing something right, because he is a wonderful, thoughtful, kind and caring kid!!" - Zerin's 2nd grade teacher

Well, I AM crying.
Okay, that is just THE sweetest thing. I AM crying too. I love that boys tender spirit. To "get it" at such a young age is a wonderful blessing.
That was so sweet. It sure feels good to know when you are doing a good job. What a great kid!
