Poop & a Party

So today, actually yesterday, I got to do two of my favorite things....get horse poop, and throw my kids a friend party. My sweet kind amazing friend let me borrow her truck and off I went with the kiddies. In my opinion, horse poop is just a little miracle. The fact that a horse cna eat something, get all he needs out of it, get "rid" of it, and then months later, I can come pack it out, put it on my garden and grow beautiful and amazing things is really quite cool! This place that I go always has a lot on hand, and maybe it was just because we are just barely coming out of winter, but I have never been when they have had SO much of the good rotting black with white spots stuff! It was awesome! The best part is when it has decomposed that much, there really is no smell, so bliss! I got enough to cover my future squash and melon beds today...yay!

I told Zerin and Liah a couple days ago they could each invite a couple three friends over for pizza and a movie. Counting my older 4, we had 10 kids, it was awesome! I think, though, we are entering the phase where one child's friends are over at a time. Not because of the number of kids, mind you. But for "other" reasons :) My one daughter who shall go unnamed to protect the innocent (hahaha!) spent the evening flirting with all of Zerin's friends, and Zerin spent the night showing off for, well probably just everyone :) I'm pretty sure he was trying to impress specific people with his awesome popcorn eating, baseball fact reciting, shadow creature making skills, but you know everyone thought he was something else. Oh boy. Love those kids :)

We got "Where the Wild Things Are." Pretty disappointed in that flick, I must say. It was kind of dark, and just sort of sad and whiny to me...I'm not really a fan. But anyways, the kids seemed to like it, and afterwards, we had a couple of rousing games of jenga before taking everyone home. They have such GREAT friends, I feel very blessed that wherever we have gone, there have always been awesome kids that have been my children's friends.

Do you ever go back over things in your mind...what went good, what went bad, what you could do differently to make it better, blah blah blah? Well, it's 3 am, and since Asher woke me up with a nightmare about an hour ago, now my mind won't shut off so that's what I am doing :) I may need to plan another one in a couple weeks to see if I can get the hang of this whole party thing. And I really want another load of horse poop.... ;)

I'm way impressed that you would have that many kids over. I'm lucky to make it through one of Jarom's friends being over at our house. Something to work on. Can you send me the info on the horse poop--would love to get some. Prices and where...thanks so much! It is a blessing too, that your kids have good friends--something I keep praying for, but don't have in this area. I'm happy for you!

Yep, once there's chaos, a little more doesn't seem to change anything. But yeah, it looks like one kid at a time for parties is probably where you're at right now. :) Little kid flirting and showing off is so entertaining to me though. I can't help but smile watching the whole thing take place. They act so grown up...and yet not.

I was disappointed with "Where the Wild Things Are" too. They could've done a lot more with it and catered it to kids a bit more. I didn't even let Dylan watch it because I knew it would give him nightmares. He's in a bit of a scared phase right now.

I might have to find out about your horse poop place and try it on my garden this year. I am WAY impressed by your ambition. The last thing I want to do right now is think about a garden. I have all these half-done home projects that are weighing me down...and I can't seem to stop catching the crud going around so I can actually function well enough to complete a project. GRR...!

It's in West Bountiful at the very west end of 400 North in an equestrian center. Give me a call if you need help or directions.

I love your comments about gardening. It's one of my favorite things to do too. I am always so proud of my garden and even take my friends in my back yard to show it off. LOVE IT! Have fun with the poop!
