The Mommy Olympics...otherwise known as last week

Hooray!!! I feel like I made it through the Mommy Olympics after making it through last week, and let me tell you, I am PROUD :)

Tuesday, as you already know, was Liah's surgery. She was up and bouncing around by that night, and seems to be doing great. It's really hard to tell how her hearing has improved, but we'll go in for another audiology test in a couple weeks, but I'm sure it will be a lot better.

Wednesday, I get a call from the school secretary that Zerin had possibly broken his arm. Zerin kind of tends to milk it when it comes to getting attention, so I didn't know what to think...but the fact that the secretary was calling me rather than him, worried me. We can no longer go to the hospital unless someone is actually dying, so we went to the firstmed place for some xrays. There was one questionable spot on his wrist, they said they would look at it, and then call us back. It's Monday...no call...so I'm probably going to call them again and make sure he's okay. He got a couple days in a splint, so we would all be happy I think if it turned out to be just a really bad sprain.

Thursday I was working in the yard while the kids were playing outside, and Asher tripped on a hose and smacked his head into our trailer hitch. Off to firstmed we went again, and two staples later, a popcicle, and some ibuprofen later, he was doing good. I'm dreading going back tomorrow to get the staples out though :(

Friday I was babysitting, and this sweet little boy, out of the blue threw up everywhere! We were outside, so it was an easy cleanup, but I'm counting this because it's one less thing that has to happen to MY own children :) He was fine for the rest of the time I had him, so I think it was just a sad little weird fluke, poor guy!

Saturday we were at a wedding reception that had a line longer than the rides at Disneyland. That in and of itself should be enough right there...receptions and children who are with their cousins are not a good match in my mind. Those moments should be reserved for parks, padded rooms, and wide open spaces...it was...shall we say, fun :) Anyways, so towards the end of our stay my bro in law was holding Belen, when she just started screaming! He felt so bad! I tried and tried to get her to calm down, nothing much was working. Fast forward to yesterday morning, and one side of her eye was all red. If you haven't experienced Belen's fingernails (they are wolverines in training...kid you not!), this may not mean much to you, but I'm pretty sure she scratched her eye. It was looking better last night, but now that I know why she was sad, I feel horrible, poor little thing!

So that only leaves Aeden out of the mix, but since two weeks ago he burned his hand so bad, I am thinking/hoping that counts because, yeah, when it comes to excitement at our house, I CAN get too much of a good thing :)

P.S. These cute pics are more of what my friend, Carrie, took the other day. Aren't they the cutest?! I'm so blessed to have so many talented, uber-awesome friends :)

Yeah, sorry about our part in all that. :) It definitely was a weird fluky thing. Hasn't happened since. So, glad he was outside. But still,....YUCK! Kids are looking forward to today.

I'm hoping that was all the adventure you will get for a month! Cute pictures though.

If you need to save money you can borrow our stapler next time. Seriously, how do they staple a person's head? Is it like a Swingline medical model or something?
