So, knock on wood, Belen has slept 3 nights through the night! Last night was an extra treat with 11 hours straight!!! What a blessing this has been since I feel like I got hit by a bus with this dumb cold. What's different, you ask? I can blame only two things. The doctor put her on a medication for her reflux last week (she hates the taste by the way), and I finally took down her bassinette and have been having her sleep in her crib in Liah's room. I am sad for that. It's so nice knowing she's more comfortable, but I LOVE having her right next to me...it's comforting to have her there. But she's growing up, I need to deal with it. I may just have to go get me a baby monitor so I'm not stressing about her in the middle of the night. I've always been close enough to have their little noises wake me up, but we are on opposite sides of the house, and with my plugged ears from this cold, I have been waking up to make sure she's okay because I'm afraid I won't hear her.
Oh, and she is also taking "normal" baby naps now. Two or three hours at a time! Are you kidding me?! This is AMAZING!!! I feel guilty that she's sleeping too much and I'm not paying enough attention to her, but she's always happy now, so something must be working.
So, yesterday we had 4 doctor appointments, and 4 prescriptions. Today we have another, Monday another, next Tuesday three more, and on it goes. I am SO grateful for flex-spending!!!! Yesterday's visits produced two ear infections, one virus, and one child that needed a breathing treatment...Zerin of all people! Crazy. I probably wouldn't have attempted taking as many in as I did this week, except for with Zerin's baptism Saturday, I'd rather not be contaminating everyone...we already got Bryan's poor mom sick :(
When Zerin was a baby, we took him in to the doctor probably once a month (if not more) for all the little things that came up. I was such a nervous nellie! As time has gone on, I've calmed down a bit, and I usually try to wait a lot of these sicknesses out. But knowing what I do now about Liah and the toll these ear infections have taken on her hearing, I think I'm migrating back to going in more often. It's annoying when they tell you it's just a virus and there's nothing they can do, but I will take annoying and expensive over hearing problems, poor girl :( Oh, and I realized I was reading her audiological test wrong...her right ear is classified as a mild loss, her left ear is classified as moderate. I'm hoping this is temporary for her sake.
In any event, the miracle of the week is I'm still standing! With Bryan not getting home until close to 9pm all this week because of parent teacher conferences, there hasn't been a lot of down time, so I have been so grateful for Belen's improved sleeping habits, and medicine for the kids, and humidifiers, and vaporub, and orange juice, and all that other stuff that helps you survive everyone not feeling their best! :)

so sorry to hear that everyone has a touch of the icky stuff! Hope things get back to semi-normal real soon! If I can help - just let me know!!
(and congrats to Z man on his upcoming baptism)
WHAT! Zerin is getting baptised? On Saturday?
Happy to hear you have figured some things out with Belen. Sleep is a beautiful thing.
Now if you can get that kind of results for everyone else...you'd be in great shape!
I am so glad to hear that she is sleeping well!! It makes all the difference in the world. I think it is sweet you love having her next to you. I hope you feel better soon too!
Tis the season for sick children. I am so happy that Belen is sleeping well for you. It is amazing how a good nights sleep can help you out! Congrats on Zerin getting baptized on Saturday.
