Goodbye ugly white roof...hello hospital...almost :)

It was finally time to shingle the roof this last weekend, and boy were we excited :) Alex tried to surprise us all by finishing it on his own Thursday and Friday...but you can only go so fast when you are just trying to keep from falling to your death. Whattasweetheart!

I was as useless as an appendix being completely paralyzed 3 rungs up on the ladder. Luckily, Bryan's 2 brothers and Alex's dad-in-law showed up on Friday to keep the fun rolling. That fun continued into Saturday, and they got 1/2 of the house finished. It looks great! We were all a little relieved that Andy only fell off the roof once, and it wasn't even really his fault! Lucky for him, the ladder, the patio roof, the cement driveway, and grandpa's homemade firetruck all broke his fall. Ouch! I didn't get a picture with all 4 of them up there, mostly because I was too consumed with figuring out how where 4 ambulances where going to park when they all fell off the roof at the same time. So you'll have to settle for this one of Bryan and Alex. Alex tied himself off to the 150 year old chimney. Good times :)

Oh, and here's a pic of our new playroom. It is going to have one of those fold down staircases, and can I just tell you...I am so excited...it may be my very favorite part of the house!
