A Wedding and My Dream Home...or...Our Trip to Idaho Falls

Yesterday, Asher and I drove to Idaho Falls with my Mom to attend my cousin, Annie's wedding open house. She was a beautiful bride, and her new husband, Chris, is adorable. We had a great time reconnecting with my dad's family. Four of my dad's siblings, my grandma, and some of my cousins made the trek. It was wonderful being with all of them.
Asher was an absolute angel for the whole trip. He slept all the way to Hyrum. He happily played for a couple hours there while we waited to go. Then he slept the whole way to Idaho Falls. He did great during dinner. He was happy during the reception...this was him smiling/staring at my Grandma Hugie. Then he slept the whole way back to Logan! This morning, when we drove back home...you guessed it...he slept the whole way. May this perfection never end :)
This was the first time I had been to my aunt and uncles home in Idaho Falls...all I can say is WOW! It was gorgeous....they have done so much to bring it back to life. I totally want to copy their porch for our new house.
So I thought I had come up with this idea for a family tree wall, but my aunt beat me to it. I want to do this same thing in our new family room. This is in the "dance hall" of their home that they turned into a family room. The tree takes up the whole wall....wow!
My uncle, Wayne, is a total do-it-yourselfer. He can make a go cart, a gate, stilts....almost anything you can imagine. He made this pond in his yard...yes MADE!!! In the winter, he grooms it for an iceskating pond. There are lots of ducks, and you can see my little cousins were more than happy to have him give them a stroll around the pond.

Asher is so adorable. He is always good like that, right. :)

I love seeing what creative do-it-yourselfers come up with...NICE pond.

How fun! I've never been to ID. Falls - but I hear it's beautiful! That house is georgeous too - I love the family wall idea! (and the porch!)

That family tree idea is awesome! What a great way to get your kids to learn their genealogy and get interested in it! :) I'm totally gonna do that when I get my own house one day.
